SESSION DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVES

Session-4 introduces students to Binary and Hexadecimal number systems. The session goals include:

  1. Develop connections and number sense across decimal, binary, and hexadecimal systems. / Desarrollar conexiones y sentido numérico a través de los sistemas decimal, binario, y hexadecimal.
  2. Identify real-world applications of binary numbers. / Identificar aplicaciones reales de los números binarios.
  3. Convert number values across systems. / Convertir valores numéricos a través de distintos systemas.

To accomplish these goals, Session-4 includes activities described on the cards below. Work through the activities described in each card. Note that the activities in the cards also include programming tasks. Access the programming tasks using the links next to each card.
